  1)

What is Gua Sha?

  • Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese healing technique that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to promote circulation and relieve tension.

    2) How does Gua Sha work?

    • Gua Sha works by stimulating blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which helps reduce inflammation and muscle tension. It also promotes the release of toxins from the body.

      3) Is Gua Sha safe for all skin types?

      • Gua Sha is generally safe for most skin types, but it's important to use it gently and avoid excessive pressure, especially on sensitive or broken skin (i.e Skin with a lot of acne).

        4) What are the benefits of using a our DermaCrest Gua Sha tool?

        • Gua Sha can help reduce facial puffiness, improve circulation, enhance the absorption of skincare products, and relax facial muscles, leading to a more youthful appearance.

          5) Can Gua Sha help with wrinkles and fine lines?

          • Yes, the major benefit with our DermaCrest Gua Sha tool is the added benefit of Red Light Low-Level Laser Therapy. This helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by increasing blood flow and promoting collagen production.

            6) How often should I use my DermaCrest Massager?

            • You can use a Gua Sha tool daily or a few times a week. It's important not to overdo it, as excessive use may irritate the skin.

              7) Should I use this on my eyes or eye bag areas?

              • This DermaCrest Gua Sha device is not designed to be used around the eyes unless you are experienced at treating these areas. DO NOT use this device on the eye lids as this is a very sensitive area, and can lead to injury. Always use precautions and consult with a professional prior to treating near or around the eye area.

                8) Do I need to use oil or a moisturizer with Gua Sha?

                • Using a facial oil or moisturizer can provide a smoother glide and enhance the benefits of Gua Sha. It also helps prevent friction on the skin. Try using your favorite serum or lotion to pretreat your skin prior to starting your routine.

                  9) How many LED's does this device have and what is the power rating?

                  • For such an incredibly small device, we have managed to squeeze 18 LED's into it (9 LED's per side). The total of 18 LED's produce a total of 5 watts of power. This makes the DermaCrest very effective in close proximity to your skin.

                    10) What is the wavelength of the Red Light Therapy and what are it's benefits?

                    • The DermaCrest massager produces Red light therapy at a wavelength of 630nm, which is a form of low-level light therapy that uses red LED light to treat various conditions without harmful or dangerous effects. This therapy stimulates the mitochondria in cells, promoting the production of adenosine triphosphate, which is essential for cellular function and repair. Here are the benefits of red light therapy at 630nm:
                    1. Skin Health: It promotes collagen production, reduce wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture, and removal fine lines.
                    2. Wound Healing: It aids in wound healing by stimulating tissue repair and reducing inflammation or puffiness.
                    3. Pain Relief: Studies suggest it alleviates pain, particularly related to joints and muscles.
